Bangkok Mess
2018
Keywords: shoe design, shoe construction, food market, chaos
Materials: leather, wood
The Bangkok Mess half boots draw inspiration from the vibrant food markets in Thailand, which hold a central role in society. These markets are places where people go for lunch, meet friends, encounter curious tourists, bargain, receive flattering calls, and most importantly, indulge in tempting exotic fruits. These markets are where a fixed structure and vivid messiness coexist harmoniously.
In the Shoe Design class, we delved into the development of various shoe types. We sketched, created moodboards, designed our own shoes, and sourced materials such as leather and sheepskin for our projects. The end product was crafted by a collaborative factory.
